hwh leveling system

I just rebuilt front and rear 6 packs , having this on my short list of things to do I got a good nudge to take on the project because of the rear of the motorhome dropping out of level with in 2-3 hrs all the way down to rest on the suspension stops.
My test of the leveling system after the rebuild yields the same issue. Any  insights/experiences that you could pass along would be
appreciated. Its the both left and right sides deflating that have me puzzled.... in leveling mode I thought left and right would be independent from one another. thanks Bill

Level mode all corners are independent.

Need to get some kid bubbles and start spraying everything, valves, lines, and bags.

I second the soap test on all air line fittings and components related to the air system.

I had one doing that and it was the pressure switch on the rear 6 pack.

Yep I have had to replace 3 out of 4 20 psi pressure switches. They leak where the plastic meets the brass.

To the best of my knowledge, Foretravel does not use 20 psi switches on the Foretravel 6-pack manifolds.

Foretravel uses two 10 psi switches on the front 6-pack manifold.

Foretravel uses one 85 psi switch on the rear 6-pack manifold.

OEM part number on the 85 psi switch is NASON SM(or CM)-2B-85R-xxxx.  For rear HWH 6-pack manifold the switch should have two wires.  The ending characters in the part number indicate wiring connection.  Check the existing switch on your coach to determine the required wiring connection (weather pack plug or screw terminals).

The HWH 85 psi switch part number varies according to model year.  I have seen both RAP15387 and RAP90570 in various references.

I am working on a 98 u270 now and the right front started leaking down. Sprayed bubble soap and the 10 psi switch for the right front is leaking big time. Guess I will have to call hwh Monday.

I think I got those pressure switches from NAPA. IIRC they are NC and open below 10 psi. Ref allthingsforetravel. Pressure sw arraignments

How old are your airbags? Did you check for leaks around them especially on the bottom? I was just at HWH recently and they checked me for leaks and didn't find any but the guy was ready to go on vacation so I think he rushed it. In the end they fix some things and wanted to replace the compressor and I said I would do that myself. I replaced the compressor with a new one and I'm still leaking down. Most people tell you it takes a long time to hunt down and repair all of the leaks and I'm still trying to do that after 5 years of ownership. Although it's not a huge priority for me since it takes about 5 to 7 days before I'm totally leaked down.

Hi Chuck, there are actually 4 of them between the tag and rear manifolds. They are for sure 20 psi. See mL31043.  2000 series leveling system on a 03 U320. Those little suckers are pricy too !

I doubt if HWH will stock those switches.  They were not an HWH item, they were added by Fortravel to the front manifold.

Thanx for helping me update my ever-expanding accumulation of Foretravel trivia.  I need to read up on the HWH 2000 Series system, since it is obviously different from the older systems.

Plus there are 2 different versions of the 2000 series, depending on the slide mechanism (room locks vs no room locks), although the leveling itself should be the same.  Well, probably.  2002 and earlier had releasing tag; 2003 and later had lifting tag.  Not sure if that affected the HWH side of things or not.

Shop around for best price.  As Bruce said, they are NC (normally closed), originally made by Honeywell, part # 76578-10 NC.

That is the part number I was able to come up with last night. Couldn't seem to find any available here in Tampa. I have several places that I can check on Monday

Journey,roam, explore: you say you leak down over a five day period. Don't worry you are fine, all air systems leak down!
HWH, MOT, two service places and I cannot find a leak on our system, it will leak down about 5lbs per hour down to about 60lbs then it becomes a very slow drop.
The maximum DOT permitted air loss per minute may not exceed 2lbs in one minute.

Six pack rebuild follow up. Chuck pointed me in the direction of Tom McCloud. Tom was quick to respond, put my kit together and shipped with in days. All to say he is a great source and still supplying rebuild kits, Thanks Chuck!
The spray Bottle of soap n water solution made leak detection quick. It seems that , the factory type push too seal hose connection will leak if the hose angle is sharp and near the fitting. that angled hose pressure cuts into the hose with the vibration of travel down the road(just my guess) allowing for some sort of misalignment and then leak. Buy removing the hose from the fitting, done by pressing in on the collar  , removing hose , cutting off approx. 3/8" then reinserting would fix the leak.
