The heat pumps are in the AC units they are really heat strips. The Aquahot is a diesel fired boiler that will heat the coach with electric and or diesel. Newer Aquahot's have two electric heating elements as well as diesel. You can also run the Aquahot running down the road and the engine heat will heat up the fluid for the coach too. With no burner on as the loop is also used to preheat the engine.

I need to know the year and model of your coach and model of heater your have.  Talk to you then.

Putting that info in your profile sure helps a lot.  See John S' profile and mine.

Sorry, but that's not correct.

There are 2 types of roof units.

One is a heat pump-capable air conditioner, which use a reversing valve and act as the backwards version of the air conditioner (pulling heat from outside and moving it to inside).  The compressor runs in this operation.  This is just like a home heat pump.

The other is an air conditioner with emergency heat strips in it.  The compressor does not run in this operation.

Most Foretravels starting somewhere in the mid to late 90's (I believe) had the heat pump model as OEM.  The roof units on our 2003 were most definitely heat pump models (as was the roof unit in our LTV).  Our 1999 Lazy Daze had the air conditioner with heat strips style.

(Noting that per a previous post, Leonard has a 1998 U295)
