IFS ride height

Did a quick search on here but couldn't find anything to answer my question, probably because IFS coaches are relatively rare.
I'm assuming the ride height is the same on the front with the IFS, but I just checked mine and it's at a seven and a quarter. I wanted to raise it some because on extreme bouncing it was slightly hitting the wheel well. I know 8 and 1/2 is standard.
Has anyone here ever heard that the IFS height setting is a touch lower than the solid axle?

Also, does the length of the linkage directly relate to the height of the bags? Only asking because when I measured hole to hole on the linkage it was around seven and a quarter which basically that's what it was at the bags, but maybe that was coincidence.

I don't think the 8.5" height applies to the IFS.  Different air bags.
I would look over your coach manuals, it should be there somewhere.
The ride height is the first thing to check, but bottoming out is also a sign of bad shocks.

Or broken shock mounts!

Definitely not broken shock mounts, was just under there greasing everything up...and the shocks are Koni's with only 5k miles on them, so probably not that either.

I just think the adjustment was out a bit, it wasn't rubbing too bad...only on a huge dip...I don't even feel it, just noticed some tire marks up under wheel well.

Just heard back from Foretravel...

He said that the IFS measurement of 8.5" from plate to plate also includes the IFS system.

I was low roughly by 1 1/4 inches...so probably why it was rubbing occasionally.

we'll see if it affects my ride at all too, might be a touch rougher with more air in bags but who knows 🤷‍♂️

I'm going to check out mine on my 2001 U320 as it too is a IFS model. I think it's proper, but occasionally there's some bumps that make me cringe. I recently changed the airbags and Koni's.

I would think the tires shouldn't be able to rub even with the bags fully deflated and the suspension sitting on the stops. Are the tires the correct size on the correct wheels?

I have only recently become acquainted with Foretravel's. I would check the vehicle placard for the proper tire size. I think those series units were fitted with 275/80-22.5 which would be a 39.8" tire.  The 295/75-22.5 is 41" tall.

They were but the 295/75/22.5 is more readily available so many of us have switched to them.

Foretravel tends to fill the wheel wells fully, not much room for change. I was looking at future upgrade from 295/80-22.5 to 315/80-22.5 on my 2008 Nimbus. I don't see that working up front. Also the 315s should really be on a wider wheel.
