ISM 450 coolant change
I have read a bunch of posts on the forum regarding this topic but my current situation is puzzling.
Followed the instructions to open the dash heat, fan off, radiator cap off, then open pet cock on the radiator.
Got 10 gallons out of it. Using the vacuum tool I was able to get just 10 gals of tap water back in for initial flush. So as some have reported the M11 block could retain up to 6 gals of coolant. If that is the case then so far it makes sense to me.
After getting the 10 gals of tap water in the system I ran it for a good 20 minutes and the temp gauge on the dash would only climb to 150 or so. Normally while driving in flat conditions I'm around 175.
I plan to flush it again with fresh and then distilled.
So two questions:
1) using the vacuum tool does it still need to be burped ?
2) if the capacity for a dry system is 16 gals do i really add 8 gals of concentrate and 2 gals of distilled water ?
