Need suggestions, water stain on walnut window sill - 1993 GV

Somehow, I've got a water stain on my window sill. Wood is black walnut. It is my understanding that no stain was used at the factory.

Any suggestions however to even up the color? I tried Howard's feed and wax hoping to darken the spot but it didn't work.

We have had success with Old English dark scratch cover polish. It does have a sent but matches things like that pretty well.
