Dewalt grease gun

I have not had much luck with grease guns. The fist one I had was ni impossible to get air to purge. Spent double the money and got a Lock n Load which solved the air purging problem but this week it would load but not lock. Everytime I tried to use it the grease cartridge ejected like a pilot seat in a jet fighter. Grrrr. Ordered a DeWalt battery operated gun sans battery from Amazon. I installed my Lock n Lube fitting in place of the standard DeWalt fitting and life is better. Amazing how much easier it is set the gun on the drive way, lock the fitting to the zerk and push a button. It reduces the physical discomfort and time to do the coach. Wish I had done this years ago. It also cleared away most of the blue air coming from beneath the coach.

I'm also loving the power ryobi grease gun I bought a while back.  I still do have to pack a small hand held one when I go under for that one zerk I just can't get on with the big guy.

I use that same fitting but on my old squeeze-n-go grease gun, ... really like it.  They also have a 90° Grease Coupler which comes in very handy in tight areas.  Only caution with that is be sure to pull it straight back off as it provides a nice lever arm which can effectively snap off zerks.

The was a grease gun coupler that was really common in the fifty's that was better than the ones we use
today. They were thicker than these ones but they worked way better than the narrow ones which were
around then were better for some U joints but that was it. If I had known they would be discontinued I
would saved some.

I recently bought the Milwaukee electric m12 grease gun and used it for the first time yesterday.  I didn't need three hands or have to pull a compressor hose and there was no mess.  It makes the job a lot easier, but I still have to pretzel my body to get the zerks on top of the king pins.  The only negative was depressing the trigger by accident when picking it up.  Not good when on your back and the nozzle is on your chest.  Overall, I'm really happy with it and I trashed my other standard size guns.

I use the lock and lubes as well as a Milwaukee 12 volt grease gun. Works great and I have way to many points for a old fashion squeeze version

Once you go electric and a locking nozzle, you won't go back!  Those days were hard on. this old body as well when laying on one's back and reaching up for another zerk!
