search not workng

Getting the message "due to high stress on the server, the search function has been automatically and temporally disabled." same message last night when I tried to do a search.

Yes, Steve is working on it and has been for days.  Too many bots trying to scrape the forum.

Glad Steve has super powers at fighting bots! If he needs a power up we will share our weapons 🤣. Actually, I'm no help at all at fighting bots.

This is what I get when I try to use the index to get to the topics and it goes to my downloads instead of opening. Any ideas here.

^ Clear your recent browser history.  Steve had to do that with my computer for the same symptom.  The browser keeps going back to a cached item.

Sorry about that  :-[  ... I fat fingered a config file and misplaced a block that caused that problem.  Noticed it pretty quickly but not fast enough.

Chrome/Firefox try
Ctrl+Shift+Delete
choose today and cached images and files.  If after that you are still prompted to download try a hard refresh
Ctrl+Shift+R
or
Ctrl+F5
