WATER FILTER CARTRIDGE

We have an Everpure water filter at the kitchen sink.  It has had steady use for 9 months.

How often should I replace the filter?

Does it screw on and off?

Where can I find replacements?

George,

We replace ours after roughly 6 months of use, give or take.  But we do not full-time, so we basically replace it each year.  We also use a dual filter system for all the coach water - sediment followed by a GAC/KDF filter because we frequent a couple of campgrounds that are on well water.

The cheapest place we have found the Everpure filter is Camping World, especially on sale.  Then it's roughly $38.  And it's often on sale.

ETA - Steve just reminded me to remind you there's a little black valve handle to turn to shut off the water supply to the filter.  You want to be sure to do that, then open the filtered faucet to relieve the pressure or you'll want to have a few towels on hand to sop up the water....  The filter itself unscrews with just 1/4 turn or so - it's a bayonet-style mount.

George,

We use a sediment filter for all incoming water.  We change the Everpure filter when the flow rate slows noticeably, not on a time schedule.  The has worked for us for 18 years of full-timing.

Same with us.  When the flow slows enough to trigger the bosses impatience, the filter gets changed!  ;D
