cell phone antenna

I have a factory installed cell phone antenna on the roof of my 2002 U295.
Is there a place to plug into this antenna or does it take a special cell phone ?
Pleaase enlighten me.
Thanks in advance

Think the coax for mine was in one of the upper front compartment.  Cell phone antennas are cell phone antennas.  You might need to change the connector on it to one that will fit you phone, or some type of adaptor that it will fit and you can connect your phone to it.  Probably best to find some sort of ham radio shop as those guys usually know what they are doing.

Boy do I miss the days of the good old Bag Phones.  Could really draw in the signal with them.  These little space cadet phones of today have really advanced in what they do, but they don't pick up a signal worth a darn.

Tom,

You'll find the coax for the cell antenna coiled up under the dash.  It could take some searching to find it.  I had FT run an extension over to my recliner, where I installed a Wilson amplifier.

I replaced my cell phone antenna with a dual Band antenna 301104 from "Prime Cellular

Steve replaced one of ours with a Wilson Trucker when we bought our coach in '04.  We also added an amplifier at the same time.  Our 3 antenna connection locations are front of coach in dash, the little angle desk behind the Ekornes, and the desk in our bedroom slideout (the original owner spec'd these).

Whether you can use the existing or even a Trucker will depend on whether your cell phone has an external antenna port.  You can check the Wilson site to see if an adapter is available for your phone as well.

We actually haven't needed either our external antenna or the amplifier in a couple of years - Verizon signal has generally been quite good where we've traveled.
