Re: Re: Vehicle Weight Reply #25 – October 22, 2010, 08:27:53 pm Your dry weight will probably be many thousands of pounds less than the GVWR, which may equate to annual registration dollar savings as long as you own your coach in Texas. GVWR is none of what you mentioned. Gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum allowable total mass of a road vehicle or trailer when loaded - i.e including the weight of the vehicle itself plus fuel, passengers, cargo, and trailer tongue weight. Note the word "allowable". Quote Selected
Re: Vehicle Weight Reply #26 – October 22, 2010, 08:51:38 pm Where does one find the GCWR for a coach? It is not on the plate that cites the other maximum weights. I have always thought that the front and back axle weights were important to the owner mainly for defining tire pressure. And I didn't think the toad weight had anything to do with coach tire pressure....true? I can see where GCWR would be good to know since one's brakes would be designed to this weight and it should not be exceeded.... true? Quote Selected

Re: Vehicle Weight Reply #28 – October 22, 2010, 09:21:23 pm Hey, thanks Peter. I'll see if it there. I have a photo of the other plate, but not that one.\It was there. Our GCWR is 44880. Our typical weight (full of fuel, 1/2 water, some waste water, fully loaded with stuff for long trip) is about 32500. The GVWR is 34880. So it looks like we could pull a very large car or trailer. I believe our Honda CRV is about 3500 lbs. Quote Selected
