It is a large diameter, thick, oil-filled, round steel flywheel looking thing bolted to the end of the transmission. I understand it was not on all engine / transmissions and I am not sure why our coach needs it. Put a crowbar type of pry under the damper and if you can move it up, the rear transmission bearing has a problem of being worn or not fastened in place tight enough. Allison has an upgrade to the bolts that hold the transmission end bearing in place. Quote Selected 1 Likes
