Rare? I have one. It's pretty shot, too.

I was tod the formula for the cooling unit was changed by the EPA requirements and the fridges do not last as long. I wonder if anyone has a link to that. I think they are skimping on the coils and made them thinner.

Paul,

Called Dometic about the noisy fan. First two people I talked to denied they ever made a refrigerator with a compressor. Finally spoke with a gentleman that said it was a "very rare" model produced in response to "It makes ice too slow" complaint.

If it's so rare, did Dometic offer you anything for it so they could include it in their museum? ;o)

I've been to the two big toy museums (Porsche and MBZ) and Dometic must have one, too...

The refers here:

Sea Freeze of America - Price List

offer AC and DC versions.

Which do you recommend, John?

AC outlets are already in place with my Dometic.

Where would I have to run a DC connection from?

Well we used a smaller single wide as you saw in my pics and I needed help to take out the old (1 person extra), and did not need to remove window. I finished up with the pantry unit which Ruth loves (Barry and Cindy saw it in PHX and liked ot too). I put in a seperate inverter because the 2500 uses a lot of "stand by power" all the time and this dedicated 1000watt true sine uses a third of the 2500 so power/ battery saving there. I guess if you factor in the cost of inv', switch etc it cost me $400 to put it in but I l;ike the lower power usage.
