HWH Hydraulic Fluid Capacity

Does anyone know the hydraulic tank capacity? I just checked mine and it is almost MT. I can't believe the slide still works.
My understanding:
Check hyd. level with slide extended.
Use Dexron ATF fluid.
It will be difficult to fill the tank.

I am to have one of my slides extended not both.  I just filled it to the line one the stick.

 we do not have slides but I would imagine that you check level when all slides IN. The tank size allows for oil to be within low specs with all slides out. If you bring level up to line with them out, you will have oil everywhere when in-surely???

 wow, I stand corrected. This would not seem to be the way I would have done it but there MUST be a reason or HWH would not do it.
Hmm, maybe I should be checking engine oil with it running ^.^d

2002 Living Room Slides MUST be checked with the room extended.  If you check it with the room retracted, you need to realize that in the TRAIN system, a retracted room has all 4 of the cylinders "pushed out" (i.e. filled with extra fluid). 

Thus if you check and fill the reservoir when the slide is retracted, as soon as you extend the room, you will be "pulling in" those 4 cylinder rods that are approximately 3/4" in diameter and 25" long.  Using a formula to calculate volume, (3.1416*25*4)*(3/8*3/8) and you see that you push 44 cubic inches of fluid BACK into that reservoir and will be overflowing it. 

This *ONLY* pertains to the single year that used the TRAIN system, 2002.

On a happy note, my rebuilt cylinder is on the UPS truck for delivery today!!!!  Without shipping, the rebuild cost for my cylinder was $142.90 instead of $395 for a new cylinder.  Hopefully I will get my TRAIN back together shortly.

I wondered how the carpet in that bay got stained, now I know.
After reading the responses I checked the level with the slide in and it did not reach the stick and I could not tell there was any in the tank. I checked it with it extended and it still did not reach the stick. I could tell, however that there was fluid in the tank by tapping on the side. I ended up adding just under a quart. I went back with the red Dexron as that was what was in it. Some did come out the breather after a couple of activation's, luckily I pre-planned for that with lots of rags.
I must say the slide sounds better when working; not gurgling.

Just checked my fluid and it's low , reading my manual it's states front living room slide retracted and rear wardrobe slide extended to check levels !!

Can I use valvoline Dex/Merc    Auto trans fluid ??
Valvoline also does synthetic version ??
