Over the years I have seen codes thrown that just vanished a few days later.  I would drive the coach and at the next service have ANOTHER shop check it without saying anything to them.  If it starts to slip then start saving.  A good shop can repair it.  We  always did.

Here is a video on clearing codes.  Not sure if it's exactly the same as your trans but it gives you an idea how easy it is.

Whether oil is the cause or not, pretty cheap "insurance" to change speed sensors and fluid with a synthetic/filter.

That is exactly what I would do.

With the caveat that when you drop the filters you find evidence of clutch pieces (which I and most others here doubt) you do not put in the fluid, and go with plan B.

I bought the output speed sensor retarder and the input speed sensor.  I replaced the input speed sensor no problem it was located on the bell housing  left side easy to do.  The problem is where is the output sensor located?  I looked all around the transmission and could not find it.  It can't be rocket science as it should have a small two wire cable running to it.  Any help would be appreciated.

Which model transmission? The owner's manual for 3000 and 4000 is in the files section  The selected media item is not currently available. and should show a picture of the sensor locations but I'm not sure if a 3060 would be different....

Pamela and Mike would know.

Terry,

One other thing that may help  others,  if you could post your trans model and the part numbers that you used.

With a U295, it will be the 3000 series.

I still can't find the output sensor.  The pictures in the book show something different from mine.  Any actual photos might help.

I added two photos to the form photos under Allison and Allison 1.  I can't figure how to get the photos to this thread.

I finally found it!!!!!!  As a "why not" I removed a small 4"x6" plate on the left rear side of the transmission and there is was.  Removed and reinstalled the sensor.  Now to get the transynd installed.  I am hoping that I can get it done at the FMCA rally in Sarasota.

Terry,

Glad you found out where it is hid at. We have been tied up in an apiary symposium for the last couple of days leaving early coming home late (still have a couple of more evenings) or I would have posted a pic.
