So... How does one go about selling a still functioning Dometic Elite RM 7832? :p
James

Put it over in the classified section with the price you want. Some of those who dry camp may be interested.

James, It is always nice to figure out what will work best for you and proceed. I sold my Dometic on Craig's list to a young couple setting up a rural cabin.  $400 would have been easy to get.  Sold it in two days for $250.  Good for both of us.    Roger

I just gave mine away to a friend who needed it.  It is not easy to transport and unless they are going to pick it up it will be hard to transport.

I figure it would be something that would have to be picked up here at FOT. but if someone has an interest here on the forums that's a pretty good place to have it waiting for pickup. I can't imagine trying to pack it for shipping!

We had our operating Dometic changed out at FOT in December, but we removed the electronic board and gave it to Keith Elms, who had a fridge that needed one.  The board in the NDR1492is one used in a lot of fridges ... there are things that cam be parted out.  Keith reports that the board is working OK in his fridge!

Perhaps not that relevant to your situation since you are having FOT do your install and your available space is different, but you may be interested to skim the topic of my Vitifrigo dp2600 installation...

Welp, in a somewhat unexpected change of plans we are now getting the 8.1 cubic foot Vitifrigo dp2600 from Defender.  Turns out BOTH Susan and Elizabeth (our 12 year old chef in training) much prefer the sleek look of the flush mounted Vitifrigo, not to mention the integrated door latches and shelf rails to keep things from sliding off in transit.

From an engineering perspective I'm much happier with something that uses 8 less inches of height, almost 8 inches less width and uses substantially less power.  It's also DESIGNED for rough service in a mobile environment, as well as running directly off the 12 system so you save the 6-10% inverter efficiency hit.  We'll also be able to shut down the inverter to eliminate the phantom load without any effect on the fridge.

When our Dometic gave up the ghost, I would have PAID someone cash money to cart it off.  Oh wait...I DID pay someone - the remodel crew at FOT.  I last saw it gathering dust in the corner of their shop...RIP.  Wonder what FOT does with all those old RV appliances they remove?  Seems like they would be a treasure trove of obsolete parts...

My RM7832 just sprung a leak, same year build coach as yours.  I had sent you a PM last week about yours, but have decided to skip just replacing my old unit with another old unit of the same age.

Looks like we are going to go residential, Sansung 33" next like Roger and Susan.  Roger was so kind to show me his install two weeks ago.  His write up is going to be very helpful.

I didn't see a PM if you sent it to me?  The 7832 is still available if anyone is interested.  As far as we can tell it's in excellent shape, works great on both electric and propane no real visible wear and tear with good seals.

My mistake, you likely did not get a PM.

I just checked my sent messages, and don't see it there.  I was on the forum using my I-Phone last week while in Port Aransas.  I sent the message on Wed. or Thur.  But it seems I must have fat fingered something on the mini screen.  Had hoped to zip to NAC, from the island and snatch the old unit off the shop floor, before something happen to it.  Sure would be nice to find a direct replacement like yours, that was not the same age as mine that has sprung a leak.  My unit has a new water control valve, and a replacement used control board all working this last year without issues.  If those parts can help someone, drop me a note.

Up dated 11:17am, some parts are already spoken for and promised.

I didn't see a PM if you sent it to me?
