Towing charges can be very high and the coverage seems to be less each year. AAA coverage should be called AAA lite now. Is different depending on the state you live in. Think we will spring for another policy like Kent mentions.

Mark,

Have you insured your new coach?  Overland Insurance offers a steep discount on Coach-Net and also contributes to the Motorcade Club.

Jeff... I haven't had any luck at all in finding operating manuals.. I just have the wiring schematics in a 3 ring orange vinyl binder...  I'm going to post an update in a bit from todays work on it...  Thanks for your kind offer...

So.. maybe a fuse blown for the gauges?  I couldn't find the fuse panel..
I'm not 100% sure on a '89 but try to lift up the dash cover.  Hinge would be closest to the windshield.  Access to all the fuse is right there along with a "key" attached to the underside of the cover to help you find the right one.  If the fuses check out OK look for a couple large wire nuts.  IIRC, power for all the gauge passes through those wire nuts.

Your model number de-coding looks right.  Sounds like you made some real good progress.

Mark, on the gauges see if there is 12+volts at the leads going into one of them and also check the grounds. As I do not know this model but would think it has the same solenoid set up all others have till late 90s. Maybe bad connection/or none and that is why they are not working. When you started it up did they work then stop once it was running??

Congratulations on aquiring your FT.  As you're finding, the folks on this board are invaluable.

On the spare tire- take a look under the front- mine is stored there.

Look forward to more posts and pictures  :)  Take care.

You mean there's a hidden compartment or space I haven't found yet?  :)

Thanks

Is there a part number or axel number you have to have to buy an axel hub cover?

I called Foretravel.. she wouldn't let me talk with a tech, since I am not a member of the motorcade.
She said they changed the rules after the first of the year..  no member, no info... so sorry

I was just needing to know if 1995 and 1989 hub covers are the same..  if they are the same hubs for those years..

I called Allison Transmissions,  spoke with a Tech,  I asked him if the coach is running while being towed,  I heard it wouldn't hurt the Transmission.  He said he couldn't verify that, and didn't recommend it.  Then said it might be true, but he would rather be safe than sorry.

Mark,
When I had my coach towed they removed the drive shaft.  No extra parts are needed.  On our older coaches its easier to get under and remove the drive shaft.  Later models added a lot of other stuff in the engine area that makes it harder to get to.  Before the truck arrived I took a paint pen and marked the joints so I could verify it went back in the same position and clocking - important to keep the balancing intact.  In my opinion, pulling the drive shaft is much easier than pulling both axle shafts.
