You should have a control box in the area of the vcr or bose to choose which signal to the tv

Another question Is the TV Digital signal ready? If it is the original one it might not be setup for a digital signal without a convertor box. Maybe previous owner tried changing antenna thinking that would pull in the digital signals but TV is not capable of it? Just a thought.

On MINE, it was the short cable from the roof up the arm to the antenna. You might try replacing that FIRST with a test cable. It's the easiest.

I found that the metal pass through plate on my roof was corroded and would not sent current through it.  I found this out when I ran a new cord directly from the Jack head to the amp- everything worked fine ( Twigs idea above).  I then had to decide how to deal with the pass through connection plate- can be replaced ( possible big hole in roof, maybe leaks) or I can directly run the new cable through the roof.  I chose option #2, bored  a hole in the roof. passed the new coax through it, tested all connections, etc, then sealed the hole on the roof with Dicor.  I have eliminated a connection that could go bad and it has been working fine ever since.

Best of luck with this                ^.^d
