And if your engine has the Quadrajet four barrel carb--do NOT overtighten the wing nut on top of the air cleaner.
You can distort the throttle body just enough that the choke will stick in the opening and then the engine runs rough.

Amazing.  I have the CA registration and clear title in my possession.... a bill of sale notarized by Bill Freeman.  The coach was smog tested June 9th and VIN was verified.. passed all CA document requirements.  We have spoken to the San Diego RV Center and verified the location of the coach and we are picking up tomorrow and driving back to Colorado..  how sad... there is so much fraud and scam on RV and Auto sale websites.

Hmmm....  listing shows Manual Transmission and Diesel.    NOT.  No such thing as manual transmission and this coach is a OFEG...

We are attempting to make contact with the " seller" with the phone number shown in the CL listing... this should be very interesting...  will keep the forum posted as to what if any communication we get from the " sellers".

Ad was removed.... phone number is now disconnected... we have verified with the State of California that Clear Title in hand is authentic with the watermark...  we have been provided the original receipt for CA smog testing certificate dated june 9 2018..  we have spoke to the San Diego RV Center tech who serviced the coach this week making it ready for our pick up tomorrow.  WHAT A scare we had this morning to see the ad link that was posted in this forum showing it was for sale in Houston...

Thanks again to this FORUM for the amazing welcome we have had as new owners. We will post photos on our trip this weekend.    RV Center service manager says on the phone this morning that this coach is IMMACULATE.    Congrats to US>.  See you on the road... not on the side of the road, but traveling ON the road.

Crazy to see a coach from my store  back then.  Kool that the value is still there.  32 years is great testimony to the build quality

I remember walking up to that  entry door and walking through the coach prior to the delivery.

Tan/brown interior?

I had a 1986 Vanguard 32 foot motorhome with the P30 (454) chassis.
Followed instructions from GM technical P30 manual.
Fixed exhaust leaks by removing exhaust gaskets and planning the manifolds.
Installed manifolds with NO gaskets.
Grind bolt holes so all bolts can be installed with engine cold.
GM allows up to 6/1000" gap between head and manifold (mine was 2/1000").
Exhaust manifold bolts must be little more than hand tight, which allows manifold to creep when getting hot.
I also installed funnels in the front to direct air over the manifolds.
No exhaust leaks for 40,000 miles.

Thanks.  Did your store sell to the original owners ?    We took this GV out of storage from the seller, found inside passenger tire lost its bead and was not disovered till we did a walk around and asked tech to check ALL pressures and to increase air pressure of the suspension...  re-mounted inside tire on the rim... all good to go... 1300 miles from San Diego to Boulder CO... good operating engine temps... NO oil leaks... good performance over all.. decent performance up the grades of northern AZ and Raton/Trinidad pass..never dropped below 40 mph... mileage was consistent 6.5 MPH...  generator needs a tuneup so we did not have house AC..  hot hot drive thru southern AZ...  our first night boondocking in the PHX Costco parking lot.. LOL..  getting tech support guy CLAYTON at NAC factory sending us all known manuals.

We got lucky with this one....  we are virgin MH owners and we took a 1985 FT GV from long term storage and travelled trouble free. 1300 miles home... now the work starts with checking all mechanicals for Big Block and House... see you all soon.

Excellent! Keep us updated. We bought a SOB that had been stored outside for over 20 years ($500). Worked great until we purchased our present coach. Lots of good memories of Canada and Mexico as well as campgrounds here in the west.

It did hop like a pogo stick for the first 20 miles until the tires got round again.
