Re: Thermo Valve Conversion Kit Reply #40 – April 09, 2019, 09:55:29 am Quote from: Chris m lang – April 09, 2019, 06:56:13 amDoes the wax controller contain parts that allow fan to run at slow speed?ChrisDoes not.. Couple things you can do. Add a 1/8 Needle valve which I did to adjust the fan at low or no speed/ HeatOr they sell adapters that have different size orifices that restrict the fluid flow. Either will work but the needle valve offers adjustment on the road and easy access as the orifices are internal so they would have to be swapped out or drilled to get the correct size that works for what you needed. All the Valve does is restrict flow at a set temp which allows the fans to cycle.. Great setup btw.. I gained some mph and it was noticeable on our first trip.. I used at least 1 needle space on the gauge less fuel.. that is minimum.. Im thinking more as I am usually over half a tank to get to phoenix and back and it was under the 1/2 mark..also I was able to adjust the needle valve to get the manifold temps down.. didnt see over 95/97 on the way back from phoenix .. temps were in the 80's. Took some adjustment..The valve I have adjusted 2 times.. seems it was set at 200 temps so I removed the cap and adjusted it 1/2 turn in. ran around 190/195 so did another 1/2 turn and hit me in the 175 marks.. going to turn it up 1/4 turn and hope it hits the spot. Turn the screw head in it turns on cooler.... backing the screw head out make it run hotter. Quote Selected
Re: Thermo Valve Conversion Kit Reply #41 – April 09, 2019, 10:12:57 am Fan on high can be a 50 plus hp loss in use.As DaveS mentioned more power is noticeable as is the improved mpg. At least one to maybe one and half mpg improvement was my and bob rozeks improvement.Lower rolling resistance tires helps that number. The rest of the industry uses the 199 full speed fan controller versus the lower temp Foretravel used. Quote Selected
