Re: Bidet Reply #20 – July 02, 2019, 09:58:05 am Some years ago, I awarded George Hatfield the "Daisy Fresh Award" for major advances in the category of personal hygiene while traveling on the road. His memorial prize was a mug emblazoned with a daisy, found handily on Amazon. After we purchased our home here in Tucson, I was wandering in Costco one day and saw ... a Brondell bidet!! This was fairly deeply discounted, but I persuaded Jeff to acquire the still fairly pricey item. We had to add an outlet in our master bath, but the apparatus was then easily installed. I must tell you .... it changed my world. I do not think I could do without one, now. It certainly leaves you "daisy fresh". Jeff also places it high on the list of "happy places". So there's that.If you want to investigate high tech toiletting .... don't look to France. Japan is your best bet. They have taken the topic to a High Art. Their bidet controls rival those of a 747, and are only lacking surround sound and virtual reality goggles ... although those features may have been added. Quote Selected

We always had a laugh when new American's arrived. When going out, The new folks would have to use the loo. When they came out they would be red in the face, sweating profusely & have this Deer in the headlights look. Muscle memory was a bad thing in a Japanese loo. Doing a half squat (like sitting on an imaginary western toilet) and holding that position for the duration was darn hard work while doing yet other work. Great workout for your quads though. Of course, you will need to download "the app" so you can view the Hi-Def image in full color on your smart phone. Quote Selected

Re: Bidet Reply #32 – July 02, 2019, 08:32:38 pm We have one at home and I love it. I haven't put one in the FT yet but I am thinking about it. Works on 110v, water keeps warm all the time (i believe has own heater to keep water warm). Also the seat is kept warm all the time. This is nice in winter. There is a warm air fan to dry off with, but honestly, I don't use that much. I think it would cause a drain on the batteries as that seat heater is always on (as well as the water for the spray). Maybe not best when not plugged in somewhere. Mine is a toto and have had about 5 years and nary a problem. Quote Selected
