KOOL MATIC vent cover

The interior cover is not insulated and is a heat loss hole. I have insulated the interior of the cover with a piece of the radiant heat barrier with the bubble wrap sandwiched in it, fits nicely into the cover, and held in place with double sided carpet tape.
Is there a better way of insulating this? Thought of making an insulated pad and fastening it with button fasteners.
Does anyone have a better suggestion?
