Creepy Seal Repair - Creation Windows

I finally fixed all my creepy seals. I pulled five window frames and repaired seven panes. I found this to be a pretty big job. The process is:
1. Remove window frame;
2. Split frame;
3. Remove glass;
4. Separate double panes;
5. Remove old seal;
6. Install new seal;
7. Reassemble & reinstall.

I bought the larger Dave Root kit. The small one does up to four windows ($320) and the larger, eight windows ($520). The kit includes everything you need. I used less than half of what I bought so I'll make a good deal for someone who wants the rest. Just get a source and price and I'll beat it by a mile.

I couldn't find much on the internet on this project. Couple of videos which were not useful. Haygarth did it years ago (Haygarth-Creepies) and he was kind enough to give me some good tips.

I took a bunch of photos and wrote up a step by step which I uploaded to the forum's media area. You can find it at:

Here's the same document on Google Drive: creepies

Glad to get this one behind me. Now for the next virus project. Just have to think of one.

Excellent job, and write-up, jor. Thanks.

I did most of the windows on our previous SOB, last year, shortly before we decided to buy a FT ::)  Those were done in almost exactly the way you did yours. IMO, this is a much better fix than resealing with the original style  butyl/aluminum spacer. I used 2' painters tape on the interior clamping ring to hold that in position, on the inside wall, prior to removing the screws. That allowed me to get the windows installed back in the same position as was original. Also, having the ring held in place allowed me to reach through the partially opened slider to get a few of the screws started while I was outside of the coach. (I did them without a helper, which should be avoided, if at all possible)

Many of the windows on our FT have creepy seals. I plan to fix them this summer.

What a great idea! That would have saved me a lot of trouble. I'm going to edit my document and add that as a recommended technique. Thanks. Also, more power to you for doing that job alone!

Great information. Thanks for posting. I came across this product several years ago and always end up using when I want perfectly clean windows. They describe it as being surgically clean. It really is a lot of work but nothing works better. Currently unavailable

John, excellent write up and glad it all finished up well. Some people think we are nuts to do these things but I like you and many others are willing to jump into these issues with an open mind.
Glad I could help in some way.
Take care

How come when the main awning is down you can only open the entrance door about 6 inches before it would tear into the awning.

It is the same way on all brand coaches. Don't open the door while deploying the awning.
