I have not found what you are saying to be true with Roadmaster. These rebuild kits seem very reasonable. I have had more than 15 years dealing with Roadmaster. I still remember FMCA shows, with them showing up to do a free inspection, clean and lube, often replacing parts at no charge or at a reasonable price when tubes where bent from backing up. I have always found them to do the right thing. I've even seen them help make the pain of trying to back up with their bars (this destroys the bar) a little less painful, such as offering a rebuilt upgrade, at a reasonable price, etc.
