Easy to understand some folks hesitations and limitations on attending.
One thought to add into the equation is the fact that this could be a "one and only" event (hope not).

As said before, you don't have to have a GV to attend, it's open to all.

See ya'll there!

Is it a Motorcade Club event?  If so, there is likely a requirement to be a member.
Unusual case here, in that they are allowing non club members to attend IF they own a GV.  Last sentence in the description of the event:

(If you are a Grand Villa owner, you don't have to be a Motorcade Club member to attend this reunion)

See the "Read More" button under the Reunion event notice:  FORETRAVEL

One & only .... Nah. Come fall, we probably will find a way to lure some of you down by the lake  ;)

Anymore info on the event? We are still up in the air about going as we are both facing some surgery ( one of the so called golden years situations to "look forward" to).

Request for those coming to the GV Reunion.

If you have a DDEC II (Detroit Diesel) cartridge for the MPSI and time to school me on it, please bring it.
Have the reader in hand, just not the cartridge, yet.

Really hoping to increase my limited knowledge during this trip.

Thanks
Frank

Frank,

Here is a link to the Pro-Link 9000 manual with more information than the user manual that comes with it: Section 1 HOW TO USE THIS BOOK

This is page 285 and can be seen in white on the top right hand corner of the page. 286 will be the next page traveling right with the pages you have already read in red.

It might take a little time but you could do a partial screen capture of the page and assemble a manual this way. This link shows how to do it on a Mac. Advantage is that if you print out the pages, they will be larger and easier to read than the regular user manual. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361 Print shops can assemble with a nice cover, etc.

Once you have the cartridge, you will have fast idle capability. The cruise control will not do it on a 6V-92TA Detroit as the low end torque will overpower the brakes. It warns you twice to make sure the transmission is in neutral before engaging the fast idle sequence.

What is not in the manual is the boost and fuel pump pressure. At sea level the Pro-Link should show about 28.5 psi for boost at about 60 psi of fuel pressure at 2100 rpm.

For all Detroit 6V-92TA operators, here is a DOT publication from a test done by the U.S. Coast Guard back in 1994. It's long but has lots of interesting details and graphs. It should be noted that the prop shaft HP is different than brake HP. It would appear that both engines are DDEC with approx 535 hp each. https://apps.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a295538.pdf  Some of the graphs horizontal but printed in portrait mode so would have to be copied and then rotated to easily read them.

Thanks Pierce!
Read, practical exercise in NAC (I hope), then reread.

That's the way my grey matter absorbs info best.

I win....
First coach to arrive at Foretravel for the reunion.  Ok, I'm a week early but we're scheduled to get some stuff done and I wanted plenty of time if needed.
Not sure if the other GV is here for that, he just got here.

I don't believe they sell new or used at the factory anymore. Any new ones there are just off the line and haven't been shipped to the sales lot yet.

Yep, no new coaches sitting out  any more.  If you want to see a new one need to take the tour of the factory and will get to walk in some of the ones under construction.  Or go to MHSRV or one of the other companies that now sell them.

Talked to Beverly K today. She mentioned that the first factory tour since COVID will be during the GV reunion next week.  Tours will become regular after that.

Don't own a GV but interested in learning all about them. We arrived last week for some service, registered to attend the reunion and are parked next to Bob and Sue. Looking forward to meeting the GV "reunion" gang.  As of late April, twenty-two coaches were registered.

The GV Reunion starts Thursday morning next week. Bob & Sue is the only Grand Villa represented here at FOT, however, there are three U-series (2-320s, 1-270) that I understand will also be attending. Since some are curious, photos below. Few coaches in number but not in fun! The view from my window.

Update- Tim & Shirley McCoy just arrived Grand Villa (last two photos).
