My 40-ft coach from Antonio was $7000 and he said it would take 3 weeks and that's what it took. Then I got the Jeep painted as well and he quoted me three days and $1,000. It actually took four and it should have took more like five but I was getting ready to leave and didn't want to wait. He also gave me about a pint of the different colors that he used which was great cuz when I went back the next year to address a little bubbling in the back from AC condensation he used that and now a year later almost it's still perfect.
Course that was 2 years ago, prices may have gone up. Antonio has a Facebook group and he would be happy to answer your question but I don't think he'll be able to tell you exactly until he sees your coach and what you want done.
To be honest I'm kind of sorry now that I spent the $8,000 on painting when I could have used that for other things but I get compliments all the time on the coach and who wants to buff gel coat? I didn't.

PART 1 (Before)

Sorry for keeping people waiting. Had to transfer pics to the laptop.

What I started with: My coach had been (horribly) painted years before I bought it. All of the graphics had been removed and a poor paint was put on. The painted graphics were already sun bleached and sad when I got the coach. 6 years ago I went down to penasco and got the red swirl, gold, brows and Unihome painted on. It made it look less ugly, and I could live with it.  Chuy at Playa Bonita and Antonio did the paint

Twig told me about a painter in Penasco who worked with Antonio and repainted his PT Cruiser. He sent me pictures of his work and looked really good. Booked him for Oct. He doesn't paint like the others and wants the coach in his shop the whole time (most painters do all the prep work at the beach or in your site, then move you to where they do the paint). He found me a house to stay in for the 3 weeks, and it was a good price ($8500 for paint, $500 for the 2-bedroom house). A lot of the communication was through Gustavo (cousin who speaks english)

Part 2 (During):

I got to Penasco, one of Abel's employees got to me and guided me to the shop. Unhooked and pulled it in. Erika met me and we went to the rental. Got all that set up, paid her, and we went back to the shop. Went over the plan for the repaint, pointed out a few things that needed special attention, then moved a bunch of stuff out for the 3 week stay.

I recommend you rent a beach house or stay at a resort. The house was 7 blocks EAST of Sam's Club in Brisas Del Golfo. This was a small local neighborhood, and I would've rather been by the beach (no one to hang out with at the house).

I checked on the shop (2 miles away) every day. Watched progress, then none, then progress. You have to take it on Mexican time. They also repainted 2 cars while I was there.

They stripped all the old paint off (see paint chips all over the ground), fixed a gouge, minor fixes, fine tuned what we were going for, and started paint. You can see the original graphics ghosted into the gel-coat.

There were some minor changes (tweaks) I wanted, and he was more than willing to do it.

Part 3 (After and other things)

So was it all smooth? Never is.

I was able to get into the coach most days to get something I forgot or to check on batteries/refrigerator. I pulled everything out of the freezer and most stuff out of the fridge the first day. I stayed on batteries for the first week, but needed to plug in after that. Electrical was iffy (no ground) and they unplugged me several times. (**This has been fixed with a permanent 30amp receptacle installed after I left JUST for customers). Lighting was iffy (**He just installed new LED lights throughout). Both of these changes were due to my discussions with Abel.

Was it on time? Nope. 3 days late (I had already built in an extra week, just in case). Everything was good (house is owned by relative, so extending was no problem). He worked on the coach up to the night before I left (I pointed out a couple flaws he fixed).

Was it worth it? YES! Is it perfect? No, but so much better than previous work I had seen from all the other painters.

Why THAT design? Well, I wanted the brows and badging to be replaced. I didn't want graphics through the bay doors (easier to clean and repair if something happens). Abel came up with the design on his own, and ran it by me. I chose the colors (except the blue border, he came up with that). He saw that I was Retired Navy, and came up with a wave for the design. He taped it out and showed me before laying paint. I gave him the thumbs up. He shot 3 coats of clear over the paint.

P.S. Sorry for the digitization on the photos. Don't know what happened, but it gives you an idea.

Yeah I like that it was it easy question and your answer it never is LOL ... I have to agree with that. I stayed in Antonio's paint booth which was a jellyfish processing plant during that season. One night I took Chief out for a walk, and I locked the door and then I couldn't get back in, took a while before Antonio's dad came and helped me out, another time I tried to get out and I couldn't the lock broke they had to put in another one the next day. I bet it was a 15 amp connection and I was living in it. They told me I could just dump my tanks in the French drain that was around the area but it was so blocked up with debris that there was no way I was going to do that. After I left the next guy that came in with a country coach I think it was went to a hardware store and wired in a 50 amp connection. I asked him if he had permission from the owner and he said no but I'm not staying here without it. Whether the wires would actually support 50 amps I don't know.
The paint booth was kind of what some would call in the middle of the barrio with lots of dogs roaming around. I was worried about the dogs at first and then I realized that those dogs needed to be more worried about my dog.
I really enjoyed working with his crew, his dad, and antonio. Although I thought he spread himself out too thin but there's only a certain amount of season for that kind of stuff and he's got to make his money while he can. Not many people going down there in August. He did all my work in the Bay. From prep to paint to finish work.
Chuck the coach looks great!

Thanks for the updates with prices.  I just put a 100$ deposit on an $8000 wrap.  My wife will background check the business of course. , but the guy was nice, came out to measure and look at the bus.    3M should last  6-10 yrs.  I'm 66  so it could work out.  I cant get it painted for less than about 13k.

I can't remember the Forum members name but, He had his coach wrapped and as I remember, he was very happy with the result.
Unfortunately, he lost his coach to a fire not long after the wrap.

A lot of my decision is based upon availability .  I can get 3-4 wraps quotes.  But only 1-2 paint quotes.    Plus the painters make such a mess  and are generally a hassle .  The wrap should take a week  and be less ugly.  My wife deserves to not be embarrassed excessively.  She has me next to her and thats all that I can do  .

Picked it up last night .  The shop did a pretty good job.  This had a FBP about 2010 and the stripes were painted on. They feathered the edges ,  including my holes that I had filled for the big awning.
I'm happy with it. I like the bright white and simple colors.  I painted green  lowers last year.
No idea how much I have in this at this point .  But , we've towed race cars all over the east coast and Canada and never been broke down.  I had one of the 2  fan belts get tossed one time on the QEW,  but had the spares and made it back to my Rochester NY base.  Its been very good to us and I hope to run it another 50-60 thou .  Bought with 125, now reads about 153 or so.
I like to preventive  maintenance it . Fuel filters, air dryer filters., oil, tires.
Paid $8000
12 tires
added front shocks to 4 total fronts , 2 rear.
  4 air bags
2 air system check valves, compressor rebuild.
Modern air dryer  with spin on cartridge.
Modern fuel filter , deleteting the very effective Racor .  (Cracked bowel, plastic stuff, 6 seals .Unh)
almost all LED lights, interior and exterior .
2000 watts solar with 380AH battery pack
    Tile flooring
  Resi fridg
Electric  engine cooling fans  , added GM one wire alternator.
  Minisplit AC

Here is a wrapped GV. Not sure if he is still a forum member anymore. He lives in the Netherlands.  As I recall, he said he paid about $5K. I like how it turned out.

Facebook messenger is the only way I  ever had contact with Geraldo. He was good to reply to messages but when he's doing a job and is busy it may be the evening before he replies which is completely reasonable. He Communicates very well. It may pay you to look into Facebook for that reason alone, it's the only reason I got onto Facebook.
