Re: Oil pressure low at cold start - sensor issue? Reply #20 – December 10, 2021, 12:18:25 pm Quote from: Pamela & Mike – December 10, 2021, 12:02:14 pmScott,That is a polite way to put it.MikeNot what I said when i installed a new sensor to find it bad from stock and reinstall the old one that is still in place waiting to get replaced again. Waiting for the moons to align before I attempt again. Truly ignorant. Note to self, upon new installation before installation ground out sensor body and plug in to wire plug to test for correct zero oil pressure and actual temperature indication. Connector is a PITA to install/remove when installed. Easy in your hand. Even before original sensor is removed/installed Quote Selected

I never see 60 psi. Normal is 34 and idle around 17. I had put this in the happy place prior but now i guess ill re-address. So What is the pressure seen by others? Re: Oil pressure low at cold start - sensor issue? Reply #23 – December 10, 2021, 04:17:47 pm So all of you guys only see ~35psi at idle during a cold start or after the engine is warmed up to operating temp? Quote Selected
Re: Oil pressure low at cold start - sensor issue? Reply #24 – December 10, 2021, 04:35:58 pm When my engine starts up cold it goes up to 60 and drops to 35 when hot andidles over 15 when hot. Quote Selected

Re: Oil pressure low at cold start - sensor issue? Reply #26 – December 10, 2021, 09:29:25 pm Here's what it does. Video starts about 15 seconds into a cold startup. Has not been run in 2 days. Dash gauge mimics what the VMSpc shows.http://youtu.be/XKxLYdvjtX8 Quote Selected
Re: Oil pressure low at cold start - sensor issue? Reply #27 – December 10, 2021, 09:37:24 pm I don't have an answer as to why this is happening but, I know oil pressure doesn't jump instantly from 35 psi to 61 psi. with the rpm staying the same. Quote Selected
Re: Oil pressure low at cold start - sensor issue? Reply #28 – December 10, 2021, 09:50:47 pm So it changes after there is a buzzing sound in the background. I'm suspecting that converter box is making the noise? Weird. It doesn't climb up, it just changes again weird Quote Selected
Re: Oil pressure low at cold start - sensor issue? Reply #29 – December 10, 2021, 09:57:24 pm The buzz is the oil pressure analog gauge in the dash moving from 35-60psi. Stepper motor I'd imagine, but that's what the dash gauges sound like when they move. Quote Selected
