2007 Nimbus

Anyone have a 2007 Nimbus
We are looking at a 2007 Nimbus
What are the good points
or what do we look out for.
We know how great fortravel is just wanting to know if any apparent problems to look for and fix
Thank you

Not sure what year FT started putting in the Hybrid generators. If it has one in it, plan on getting replaced if not replaced already. There is  a lot of information on the different year coaches.

I would also remove your phone # & email address unless you enjoy getting spammed.  There are visible to anyone, including people not registered or logged in.

We have a 2008 Nimbus 338CE. Have owned it now for about 2 years and have put 10k on the odometer. Have only had a few minor issues, water leaks in bay and on fridge, that were easily repaired once found. Other than that just normal servicing has been done. Plan on doing air bags and possibly shocks in the next couple years, as they are original and starting to show wear. We love our coach and at this point would do it all again.

Model years escape me but there was a couple years that the Nimbus was prone to siding delaminating particularly around the slides. Look closely for bulges . The repair is expensive, I would certainly not rule out a Nimbus but you ask a good question and if one checks all the boxes then good. Have seen some nice ones but have seen a couple that were scheduled for 30 k in siding repairs. PO may have already addressed or maybe the bus never had the issue.

Dub brings up a good point. Not sure what years were the issue years either. But I was concerned about mine and had Extreme look it over after I bought it for peace of mind. Mine does not currently have an issue but I have seen some that have serious delaminating. Problem seems to start at point where slide openings are sealed/caulked to outer walls. Also belt line sealing above bay doors. It is something to look at and be aware of. And yes Extreme said a big issue can easily go 30k or better to repair.

2007 was the first year of the Nimbus as a new model (vs 2006 when it was a rebadged U295/U320 mashup).

The dash air conditioning system is a one-off and not repairable.  Considering Buying a Previously Owned Foretravel

Many were built without a transmission retarder.

I recall a change in plumbing practices that resulted in water leaks.

It would not be my first choice of Foretravel by a long shot.

The delam years are primarily 2008-2009.  Cost to repair is well into the 5 figures.  That said, we're now 14-15 years from build, and I would expect those with significant delam have been repaired OR it should be readily visible on a hot day with the sun shining on the side of the coach.  Those areas with black paint will reach upwards of 160F, so air pockets in the delam should expand nicely at those temperatures.

user bobnkathy is no longer active, but had good insight as an owner of a 2007 why they wouldn't recommend it.

We own a 2007 nimbus 336 just suffered severe delaminations around all three slide openings, seems fortravel did a very poor job of sealing the edges of the cuts.
Still I don't know what I would replace it with that would be better.
