Shop vac works well and best on a cool engine.

Don't see any reason for changing the plug now if your going to do it yourself anyway, someone will probably think of one.

********  UPDATE ********

Speedco Corporate called me today after my email to them. They were super nice and very apologetic about it all. They are sending me a complete refund for everything. I cannot say if I will ever back to them but who knows, I might change my mind one of these days. At least I know Corporate is willing to make it right even if the branch location isn't and that is a huge plus.

That's good news about your refund. Speedco does a lot of fleet work and that particular location should have had better quality control. I presume the manager as well as the guy who left his fingerprints heard about it. Maybe heads rolled.
I think Loves was in the process of taking over when I had my last work done there and they were raising the prices on everything. I've done my own oil changes and grease jobs since then because I have more time than money.

Yes, they do run a high number of units through that location which is another reason I was so shocked at what I was witnessing. The corporate rep. who called me said due to my complaint, there will definitely be meetings and discussion from the top down over this. He too was quite shocked that they charged me for the drain plug they damaged and the fingerprints all over everything.  I explained to him, I am not trying to get anyone in trouble nor do I want all my money back, just that something needs to be done as that is not what most would consider professional customer service. Here's hoping they get it all worked out, I do wish them the best.
