130 volts, Gage not returning to normal.

So I started the generator and noticed 130+ output on the PowerTech meter...shut of the Gen and the gauge stays at 130+,plugged in shore power and still 130??.Shut all systems down and PowerTech meter is still at 130.???
Is this gauge bad  ??? and where can a new unit be bought.

Thx

Hans,

Those gauges are often in error.  Check with a good digital voltmeter in the wall socket near the gauge.  The gauges can be "calibrated" (i.e. adjusted).

Mine reads low as well. I installed a Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C. It is installed after the transfer switch so it shows me load/voltages and protects everything when using shore power or generator.

I've had generator voltage regulators fail in the past.

Hans,
Either the Powerwatch has failed, or more likely, the meter saw a spike and pegged high.  Did you try a little "percussive calibration" (tap the meter face sharply, over the meter pointer pivot point, with one finger).
I don't think that the Powerwatch units are still available for purchase, new, but they are not that complex and there are several threads on the forum regarding various repairs and calibration of same.
Good Luck,
Neal
