A few years ago I had a solenoid that was leaking. The plastic part on the piston had a couple of overlapping ring depressions made by the cone seat. I chucked it in a lathe and removed just enough of the plastic until it was flat. The plastic was a little rough after this, but it hasn't leaked since. It's a shame spare parts are not available as the solenoids are easy to take apart. Guess the market isn't large enough for spare parts.
