Adhesive for towel rod

Can anyone tell me what would be my best choice for adhesive to re-apply the towel rod to the glass on the Alumax shower door.

TIA

Probably not epoxy. Check with a local glass installer. Probably a very specific prep process

Clean the old adhesive off, wipe with rubbing alcohol and apply some latex caulk.  You will have to secure the bar in place until the caulk dries.

Go to an auto parts store and get the adhesive used to hold rear view mirrors on to the windshield.

My vote is..................SHOE GOO!! Apply to one part, place in position and held in position by duct tape until the Shoe Goo cures--likely a couple days if cool temps .

Ed, I used an epoxy made to adhere glass to metal.  My towel rod has been on for over a year and no issues.

I used VHB tape and it has been in place for 4 yrs and with a big bath towel weight on it a lot. If you cannot get that then use the 3m tape that you can get from Napa etc for putting the vinyl side mouldings back on cars etc. The 3m VHB is the better one. Make sure the glass is cleaned properly before doing

I used 2 parts epoxy and it's still solid after 3 kids and wife many outings.

Thanks,

Has anyone had experience with this stuff? The information on the Home Depot sight looks impressive.
