Re: Loan or rent your RV?

I would never even think of asking to borrow someone's motorhome, wife, or Harley!!!
But, having said that, I was brought up to always, ALWAYS, return what I borrowed in better condition than I got it.
Borrowed an old Alice Chalmers that had a burnt cylinder to grade my yard. The retired farmer said not to worry. He had his money out of it over the years and had a much newer one to do his garden.
We couldn't get to our yard for about a month because of weather and softball tournaments.
Before we took it back I put on a new muffler, spark plugs and wires, changed all oils and filters, sanded off the rust and repainted the entire tractor, along with all new decals. Wire brushed and oiled all the rusty tools under the seat.
Took it back on a Sunday afternoon--late. Farmer & his wife up north. They came home after dark. Farmer said:"Look Mama!! Somebody left us a new tractor!!" She said:"No Papa, that is our old tractor you lent to that man."
He said he had to put THIS tractor in the garage. It looked too nice to sit outside and it looks like rain!" (Broke the standup muffler off going in!)
Found out the next spring that he had the engine rebuilt. Just couldn't stand HIS old reliable tractor looking so good and having that bad engine!
Ran into him in a store and his first question was if I wanted to borrow his other tractor!!
