See the photos below to hopefully clarify my comments.
Chuck,

The photos are great and really help.  A fourth photo from farther away showing the general location of the solenoid would be helpful.

On our U280 the ignition solenoid is located under the lift-up dash cover, directly in front of the driver, behind the instrument panel.  I'll add another photo later today.

Wouldn't this blue sea latching relay be even better?
It is also going to be a perfect replacement for the booster solenoid.
I don't know about "better".  It would be an alternative to the OEM ignition setup.  As you say, would require a additional step in the starting sequence, which some might find objectionable.  OTOH, if the selector switch was hidden or disguised, it would be a excellent anti-theft device.  Even if a thief has the ignition key, they would not be able to start the coach.

Our coach uses the Blue Sea 9012 for ignition solenoid duty, and the Blue Sea 7701 magnetic latching solenoid for BOOST solenoid duty.  I consider both devices well worth the (considerable) expense.

I just put in the 500 amp Blue Sea in and did away with the isolator and if the cables had been
longer I would have removed the boost solenoid. The 500 amp Blue Sea could be run from the
ignition switch.

Yup, a common upgrade from the diode-based battery isolator.

Latching so no heat generated by the coil.
I use the latching relay for battery disconnect on Tahoe for towing. You apply power to one wire to turn on  and then apply power  to turn off. This relay would not work good for use in this thread unless you did some rewiring

Agree, not designed for ignition solenoid use.
