The ATF fluid in my HWH system is red.  I did not want to swap it out so I called Mike Rodgers at MOT to ask what they use.  They use:

Dexron III/Mercron  (I might not have the spelling correct)

Mike also confirmed what Mark Harvey told me and that is to check the fluid level on a 2000 single slide with with slide in.

The Dexron ATF is the reason it is red.  Dexron has red dye in it.  HWH has a warning about that on their web site, the fact that Dexron ATF will stain if the system leaks.  The HWH fluid and some of the other approved fluids are clear.

Pat,
I understand about the possibility of red stains. That does not make me want to drain and change to clear. Sorry, I didn't elaborate enough to make that clear.
