Re: Flooring Choices ??

Carpet in the bedroom is still my preference. It gets almost no wear. Having a smooth surface in the rest of the coach is just a no brainer, as far as I am concerned. We have lived in coaches that had wood laminate, carpet, luxury vinyl and now porcelain tile. My absolute favorite was the luxury vinyl that we installed in our '93 that replaced some very dark wood laminate. It was non-skid, looked very rich and not like a typical vinyl product, was a dream to clean and withstood the vibration of going down the road and the storage temperatures of 45 degrees in the winter. The next coach had some kind of tile in the kitchen and bath that was meant to be non-skid (I think) and carpet in the forward. I could scrub that tile like Cinderella, and it just was never clean. The carpet was a chore, really. This '02 coach has porcelain tile. It is not slippery, the grout is totally intact and has withstood vibration very well. It is very easy to clean with a vacuum and damp mopping. I am all about quick cleaning, and Mr. Wonderful is pretty forgetful about his feet, sometimes. The photos I have seen of the bamboo and cork flooring look really wonderful. If I were going to do another project, I would certainly investigate that as a possibility. My own experience leaves the luxury vinyl as my favorite with regards to appearance, ease of maintenance and feel on the feet. Good luck with your research!
