10kw Gen fan belt

While I was in the hole behind the generator changing the steering box I thought I might as well change to generator fan belt.
I have a Kubota 4cyl. 10kw unit.
The belt that came off was a BANDO RPF 2370. After researching ( before belt removal) I came up with a GATES 7360 for the replacement.
The 2 belts seem to eye ball length correctly, but the BANDO is much slimmer. It did seem to sit very low in the pulley grooves.

If you have changed yours, what belt did you use? Did somebody before my ownership replace with the wrong belt, or did I buy the incorrect belt?

A much bigger PITA job than I expected, I want to make sure the right part goes on.

Suggestion: 
Replace the fuel cut-off solenoid (easy) and hi-pressure (short) flex hose.  pc

After calling Foretravel (wrong part number) MOT ( wrong part number) Kubota parts supplier (wrong part number, but close), a search on this forum (wrong listed part number, but same number MOT suggested)and trips to the parts store I finally have a winner!

The belt turned out to be a GATES XL 7365.
This is for a Kubota V1305 engine on a Powertech 10kw generator.

I think the previous owner installed the wrong belt as it was too narrow in the pulley groves, this belt fits perfect.
I did this as a preventive maintenance job because I was already behind the generator working.
It first appeared to be a easy job, NOT!
I ended up cutting a access hole in the front shroud below the radiator fill tank. Makes fishing the belt on and off MUCH easier.

Not a job I would want to tackle someplace away from home after my Generator shut down from a broken belt.

I hope this info helps anyone looking to change this water pump belt.

I just went through the PITA belt deal with the generator 10KW with Isuzu. Called MOT told them what I was looking for, they called back in about an hour with the right Gates belt number. Power Tech had the belt listed on their web site but a little pricey 15 bucks and 10 to ship it. I think it was the same #. mine has remote rad so no fan just an idler pulley.

Uggghhh..

  Isuzu 10K Power tech in our 2000 320.......  This unit with remote  radiator has no tensioner/idler pulley.....      Automatic overheat safety switch turned the generator off the other day in my uncles driveway, while of course I was explaining the reasons foretravel was a better buy then SOB sport coach he was looking at.  Few hours later at home, looking for cause of over heat, and discovered only a thread of belt left on water pump pulley.    Searching beam alarm site, produced incorrect part number, ordered 2 belts from power tech that were wrong.  finally went to Oreillys and bought 10 different widths and lengths and got one that "felt" right when installed  27" by 3/8 I believe.    Have yet to talk to anyone at power tech, but I was surprised to have to "roll the pulleys" with force to have proper tension when installed and no way to adust tension.  This belt, and the engine belts IMO should be in every RVers "spares bag".      Or at least take the time pre-failure to identify what exactly part number is needed, before its shredded, or just disappears in some remote location.   
      Just because your manual or a website says so, doesn't guarantee info  is accurate.        Verify what is there !!

You should have the pulley nut held in place by a metal tab. If you bend the tab out of the way, the nut and one half of the pulley should come off the threaded crankshaft. Threads may be left hand so check first.

Yours is later and may not be the same as our 1993 10Kw so take a look. My user manual shows a small alternator installed and is different than the actual installation.

I had no alternator but did have a tension pulley in its place.
I can see where the belt numbers I originally tried might work with a system that is has no tension pulley but relies on a tight fit between the pump and crankshaft pulley.

If you have a one piece pulley, the belt could be fitted to the pulley and then the belt/pulley slid back onto the shaft and the nut tightened. Looks as if the shroud might have to come at least part way off to allow the pulley to be taken off and back on.
