Just a thought here.
We picked up a small fridge at a garage sale for our G-daughter to use. They had to tent camp with their three boys so needed cold storage.
Door had a lock near the bottom but no key. I could see the shape inside and the little pin centered that prevented anyone just jimmying the door open. I took a hardwood dowel, matched the outside diameter to the lock hole, drilled down the center to clear the center pin and then proceeded to sand & carve the shape to fit the lock shape (triangular). After I finalized the shape and tested it in the lock I then proceeded to make a key out of a piece of steel. Works great. Now, when the fridge is not in use I hang the key on the electric cord on the back of the fridge and prop the door open.
