Trash compactor key

No key to my trash compactor. Can anybody take a picture of there's as I think it may come in handy for trash and "bricks", as my wife has a cousin in Redding, CA. Bragging rights are a bonus also.

Our 91 GV sounds like your twin, and I dont know of a key for the trash compactor.  Is there a hidden message in this?  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

It has a key switch to turn on and compact. Which is missing.

keys were common in trash compactors of the era - a safety mechanism to keep a toddler from getting in and another one inadvertently running the compact cycle with tragic results

My key is a blank that fits the hole. It works fine without any cut. Find blank that slides in and try it.

Tried a screw driver last night, does your key have a tiny pin on the end of it that goes in the hole at the end of the cylinder?

No fun compared to a dryer ride or a ride down a hill in a tractor inner tube.

Screw driver managed to split the plastic.

Just a thought here.
We picked up a small fridge at a garage sale for our G-daughter to use. They had to tent camp with their three boys so needed cold storage.
Door had a lock near the bottom but no key. I could see the shape inside and the little pin centered that prevented anyone just jimmying the door open. I took a hardwood dowel,  matched the outside diameter to the lock hole, drilled down the center to clear the center pin and then proceeded to sand & carve the shape to fit the lock shape (triangular). After I finalized the shape and tested it in the lock I then proceeded to make a key out of a piece of steel. Works great. Now, when the fridge is not in use I hang the key on the electric cord on the back of the fridge and prop the door open.

Bought a $6 key at local appliance parts store, checked for toddlers in the bin, and turned the key. It works! Needs some lube. Thanks for the pictures.
