replace dometic RM7030 refrigerator

I have to replace a Dometic RM7030 refrigerator, opening I have is 57'' tall x 32'' wide x 24'' deep can anyone tell me what they have replaced this with  Thanks ipatch

Do you want to switch to residential fridge?  If so, read on...

We replaced our RM7030 with a Samsung RF197.  That model has been discontinured, and the model after that was discontinued.  But they still build the same basic fridge - current model shown in link below.  The Samsung is taller, so it will require modification to your existing space.  There are numerous threads on this Forum covering this mod.  Just search for "Samsung installation" and read all about it.

If you prefer to stick with absorption like we did you can't go wrong with an Amish cooling unit from JC Refrigeration.

Our Dometic stopped cooling. We considered a residential and decided that we preferred the versatility of a 2 way fridge. We made the trip to Shipshewana and are thrilled with the results.

We spent under a coach buck and have a 3 year warrantee as opposed to the 12 months that comes with a new fridge.

We also installed the Amish Cooling Unit two years ago and are very pleased with its function. My wife and I were in our mid 60's and did it by ourselves.

 I purchased a hydraulic lift table from Harbor Freight and after removing the 8 screws holding the fridge in place, the fridge doors, the interior cooling plates and the heating unit in the rear we simply slid the fridge onto the table, lowered it to the floor and tilted it onto the kitchen floor on a large cardboard piece to protect the wood floor. It took some prying to remove the old cooling unit and bending of the new one but the new unit finally fit. It turns out that the 7030 unit is not a drop in since there were several variations of the 7030. I purchased mine from collingunitwarehouse.com and got lots of support via phone during the installation.

I highly recommend this upgrade. The new unit is more sturdy than the original. I expect it to last for years.

FWIW....my amish unit lasted 4 years. Replaced it this summer with a different one. Non amish.

Richard, if you are frequently plugged in a residential refrigerator is a good option.  You may need to add an additional battery for duration on your inverter.  And you may want to see if your inverter is a pure sine wave type or modified sine wave.  Most newer electronic stuff work better with the pure sine wave power.  Many have reported no problems with the modified sine wave inverters used in earlier model coaches.

We swapped out LP refrig for a Samsung over three years ago.  We did the work ourselves and our net cost was under $1000. For us it has been a great enhancement.

We had the Amish in Shipshewana Indiana replace ours 4-1/2 years ago and have been pleased with its operation.

in 2010 i replaced with amish cooling unit. it lasted 18 months. then i put in a new
dometic. the tech at MOT commented "that it wasn't half the fridge of the original",
it lasted 2 years. in 2014 we installed a samsung 197.  we use the modified wave
heart, no extra batteries and no problems.

Yes. Exact replacement. Shipped to my house. You have to call and ask.
