Sounds easy, fuel filter specs for Baldwin 7613?

I will replace the Racor prefilter  with another.  I found a filter that wil fit my package but cant find the micron rating or GPH.
Baldwin 7613, Is it the first or second filter for the DD?
 Thanks,MM

Interesting-- the Wix cross reference which is usually a pretty reliable source for filter specs does not show that as a Baldwin #: http://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/InterchangeMultiSearch.aspx?q=7613&o=me

I found another with no flow specs.  BF 7614 .  The OE racor has 3/8 pipe fittings and is marked 63GPH.
I hope that pretty much anything more modern has the same or more flow.  I just want to make sure that the first filter is 8micron or larger.
The 7614 fits one of my filter blocks.
 Might have one, Wix 33343

Ya, the BF7614 crosses to a 10 micron Wix filter.  But, I really prefer the clear bowl primary filters so I have some idea of I have water or contamination just by looking rather than having to draw a sample.

Valid concern for sure. The 33343 is the first filter for a modern Duramax and has plenty of flow.  Looking around , very few  road diesels have a separate water drain.  Mine has collected zero water in the year I've had it.    My concerns are the mulitple seals and air entry points  with the drain valves and see through chamber. Any of which can stop the bus along the road  with parts days away.  I want parts local .
  Thanks for the link ,MM

So I have the oem racor, had no problem getting a replacement Baldwin in stock that fit the racor. Would have to check the receipts for what I got. Found 4 racor primary filter kits stuffed in a storage compartment kit 15211 probably very very old and glue is shot. New secondary filter is a Baldwin BF970. Could not find much on the Baldwin site for micron ratings. I kinda like the racor drop in filter concept as I changed filter and motor fired right up. When I changed the secondary I just loosened a fitting and used the manual fuel pump a few times until air bled out, tightend the fitting and engine fired right up. Is the clear bowl assembly and gaskets no longer available? If so it's almost 30 years old and a top access alternative would be great with a visible fuel bowl.. All of my Baldwin filters we're in $10-19 range, with the exception of the $65 monster air filter. Might upgrade the secondary to a CAT low micron for added protection as I see my CAT  8 injectors are about $130 each and I am used to $25 MBZ diesel injectors.

I changed the  easily obtained cartridge insert, and blew out the  crap in the sump.  When I put the plug and bleeder back in , fired it up and took a flashlight to the sump. Noticed very slight air intrusion. Gave the thumb wheel a turn and more air intrusion.  The plastic bowl had  cracked .  Parts seem to be E bay only and days off.
This model Racor has the gasket and O ring under the T handle lid,  base plastic bowl gasket and two more O rings  at the bottom. plus a couple internal.
I try to  use a" failure point reduction " strategy , due to the failure of any of the sealing points  making the bus RLS or stop .  The modern  Wix spin on single seal filter should help that  in my mind while no doubt calling for more often replacement .

If you  have a plastic sump, take a bright light behind it and check for bubbles.  There should be zero air inside . Any air indicates poor seals, poor fuel lines and will eventually  lead to poor running- excessive black smoke  and failed pump.
Gates #725928185  adapters to the fuel lines from the new remote oil filter adapter, 3/8 pipe to 1/4 45*flare.
Back in action, instant start again. good power, the correct amount of smoke.

I guess if the plastic bowl is no longer available, time to start looking for a replacement for this 30 year old part.
