In summary, below 25F:

1. Heat the battery for a few minutes with a heavy discharge.

2. Then charge at a low rate.

This sequence will warm the battery enough to prevent lithium plating / damage.

See what I did here 600 AH Lithium Battery Installation

The small battery heaters add about +30° on the low setting to the battery temperature reported on the Victron BMV702.  About +40° on high.  These cost less than $10 per battery.  BattleBorn sells a heating pad for their batteries.  When I got my batteries it was about $200 per battery. It will be interesting to see what their internal heaters do and add to the price.
