wet step

Had a hard time finding nighthawk's post for the wet step as it was posted under lift up table re do. Why is water getting into what is called the wet step? I must not be getting in heavy enough rain or not pressure washing the door hard enough as I am dry and the step is solid.

Different type of construction. Probably different gaskets/seals around the door.
My door leaked somewhere up the latch side and the water accumulated on the sill. It couldn't get out because the rubber/foam gaskets on the bottom of the door, up against the outer skin, kept the water in.
Once I cut a 1" wide opening thru the foam then the water could leak out instead of going over into the first step.
