Broken door handle

'93 U225
My door handle just got trashed.
I had to pretty much destroy it to get out.
And I need a new one quick.
How hard is it to find a replacement?

A picture of the handle and a part number would be really helpful.

I don't think that is the one Moby is asking about.  More likely the entry door lock assembly with the trouble-prone sliding bolt and fragile handle.

Ya, I am not clear on whether it is the "assist" handle or the door close/lock mechanism that is needed. Suspect the latter based on the first post: "I had to pretty much destroy it to get out."

Brett - I agree.  This is a known malfunction.  I posted a thread on my approach to preventing the "LOCKED INSIDE SYNDROME".

Yeah,
Its the door lock handle that's shot.
The interior lever came off in my hand and things got worse from there.
Once I got it open (ask me about climbing out the window) I took apart the latches inside the handle assembly that grabbed the "Nader bolt" and figured I'd use the deadbolt installed by the PO until THAT gave up the ghost!
The backset for the deadbolt basically fell apart in my hands.  JUST TRY TO FIND A 5" BACKSET in Wilkes Barre.  I dare you.
Actually, I found the last one,  so at least the door gets secure.
Now my waterpump has a drip.
 It never ends.

I lost the key to my original Schlage deadbolt and was able to get a free replacement deadbolt assembly and keys from them.
The PO of your coach should have done the same. They have (or had back when) a lifetime guarantee.
I can't remember whether I used a part number or sent photos.

I added an inverted coat hook to pull the door closed.
After I drilled the lever , added a set screw. etc.
