troubleshooting 12V compressor

I know my 12V compressor was working when we bought our 96 U295, three years ago because I heard it run several times. But now, I don't recall hearing it in a long time. While camping this weekend, I located the compartment for it, and opened it up. I did not see a related fuse for it anywhere in the compartment, and according to the schematic, it is protected by a breaker in the front stairwell, marked "HWH compressor". I traced the motor leads from the motor casing to their nearest connections, and applied 12V directly to them from the house batteries, but got nothing. I'm pretty much open for suggestions, folks

Steve, the U270 is about the same vintage as yours and I too have not heard the 12 v compressor run in quite some time.  I too look forward to input.  Last year I developed a leak at a broken air pressure regulator for the leveling system.  After that leak was stopped I still seem to lose all my air in about a couple of days or so.  But the coach holds level fine, but then again, I'm only in one spot for no more than a week.  I haven't even located the compressor yet.

Someone will help soon, I'm sure.

One item of failure is the pressure switch, I understand it turns compressor on at about 90 psi and turns off at about 110 psi.
Have heard of this issue before, I have not had the problem yet but brothers Phenix has gone thru 2 already.

I thought that my pump was the quietest that I ever heard, but since this thread, I guess mine has been dead since I bought PH.  Pressure has been staying up so I didn't notice the lack of noise.  I guess that I will have to go down and check the fuse (where-ever it is) and the pressure switch (where-ever that is, too).
Maybe ignorance REALLY is bliss! :o
