"well nuts" on waste water tanks

Has anyone replaced a "well nut" used for quantity gauge on the Audit system. My black water tank indicates 1/4 full after dump.
I read continuity across the bottom nut all the time. The indications jump from 1/4 to 3/4 , with no indication of 1/2 full

How do you remove the nut. They appear to be glued in.

Well nuts are rubber donuts with a center screw that seal by tightening the screw, compressing the rubber on the inside surface.  They are removed by loosening the screw almost all the way to relieve the compression, then pulling on the screw.  In a waste tank application, the rubber may have hardened, or waste built up on the inside.  The other alternative would be to remove the screw, cut off the outside surface of the nut with a knife, then pushing the rest of the nut into the tank.

I was never confident of the tank levels the Audit System provided so I replaced it with the  "SeeLevel" System manufactured by Garnet Ind. It was relatively simple to install, cost was under $300 and the tank levels are portrayed on a digital readout by percentage. This is one slick system.

The SeeLevel uses  self-adhesive strips that attach to the outside of the tanks as sensors. They therefore are not affected by sludge or buildups on the inside of the tanks. Fortunately I was able to use the existing wiring, SeeLevel uses only one wire, for the Audit sensors, so all I had to do was expose the tanks and locate the wire under the dash. I was able to use the existing wiring for the fresh water tank but I found it was easier to run new wiring since the fresh water tank on my 1993, U225 is in front of the coach near the dash. The propane and DC charging volt meter use the existing wiring as well.

The only issue is that the base package only comes with three 14" sending unit strips and the tanks on my U225 are so tall I should have ordered three addition strips to accommodate the height. The strips are almost $100 each so I opted to order only one extra strip for the water tank. Now I know the exact level of the fresh water and and the level of the Gray and Black tank only after they are a little more than half full.   

The techs at Garnet are extremely helpful and these guys really stand behind their product.

If anyone decides to use the SeeLevel System, let me know and I will do my best to talk you through it.

I am afraid I can't find my receipt right now but I believe it was a model 709. It has buttons for battery, fresh, gray, black and LP. If you really want to know, I can keep searching for the receipt.

We like SeeLevel % display, but like the sensors better on SensaTank, where they have 3 separate sensors that can be more easily placed with our tall tanks.
Not only can the 3 sensors cover our whole tank height, they can be placed at the correct position for our slant back tanks that have more water per vertical inch at the top portion than the bottom portion.

No. Each monitor only works with their own sensors.
