Repair of awning holding clip

This one is not as sexy as fixing a pump, a fuel leak, or a generator that won't start, but I got it done for next to nothing.

There are two revolving clips that hold flat the two arms of the awning over our slideout.  These clips need to rotate enough to be moved  with our awning pole,  yet need to have enough friction so that they do not spin too freely.

Recently, the non-metallic washer that provided the friction for one of the clips finally wore out after 10 years of use.  The local hardware store had nothing that would replace the  washer so I created my own from a piece of clear flexible plastic hose with an inside diameter of .175 inches.

I sliced of a cross section ring that is about 1/16th of an inch thick,  ran the screw through it, and then screwed it to the bracket on the coach.  Now we can turn the clip and it stays in the position we want it.

Thanx for the "fix" idea. I have one washer that is starting to go. Now I know how to fix the problem. After 10 years everything will need some kind of attention.
