Rearview Camera Cable Routing

I have a new color camera and 5" LCD monitor to replace the old B&W in my 96 U270.  The new camera does not work with the old RG 58 cable but it came with new 4 conductor cable that I need to install.  As best as I can tell with out removing more panels it looks like the old cable from the camera goes over to drivers side wall into a hollow aluminum extrusion on the top of the wall and then all the way forward to the front cap.  From there I think it drops down to the hollow space in the bottom of the side cabinets, back to the hollow wood post behind the driver, down that post, and along the side wall up behind the instrument panel.  Can anyone confirm this before I start removing a lot of panels?  Maybe this a question for James Triana.    There is some other wiring in that extrusion and occasionally a 1" hole that I can stick my finger in and feel the wires.  In most places the extrusion is covered with the same material that is on the ceiling.  Seems as though I should be able to pull the new cable through the extrusion with an electricians snake. Thanks.

Jerry,

My new color camera purchased from RVCams.com in Baton Rouge has four wires from the camera.  I connected the existing 12v + and 12v - to two of the wires and the existing coax center conductor and coax shield to the other two.  Works great.

You might call Tim 877.378.2267 for more information.  He is very familiar with Foretravel camera systems and is a great resource.

Sure hopes this saves you a lot of work.

Yup, call Tim.  He may even have an off the shelf adapter.  I know he did for the color camera/monitor I got from him.
