Air Governor/ Air Leak

All,
I have been noticing that my air pressure alarm has been coming on when I park in a back-in location.  It seems the compressor cannot keep up with the brakes in a tight parking situation.  I thought I most likely had and air leak and indeed found a leaking protection valve on the front tank.  The problem is, the leak is not very big and I do not know how much air my compressor makes at idle.  My next thought would be to replace the air governor.  Would someone in the group know where to purchase the Meritor protection valve and the air governor?  Is there a test to be preformed on the air compressor itself to see if it is OK?

Thanks for the help in advance,

Brad

Air leaks big enough to set off the low air alarm should not be ignored, replacing the governor is not a solution until the air leak is fixed. Air leaks do not get any better with time.

Gary,
I just found the Pressure Protection Valve on-line and will order tomorrow.  I will fix the one leak I found and then see how my pressure holds.

Thanks,

Brad

I hate to say it, but when you fix that leak you will find another one. It seems that when you tighten up the system you find all the weak spots.  I hope it all works. I have a friend who had 28 leaks that were found with a special spray from HWH. I would think soapy water will work in the beginning too.

John,
I knew there was a lot of air line under the coach, but it took two pint squirt bottles of soapy water to check all the spots I could find.  My backs a little sore from the hour or two crawling under the coach.  My plan is to replace the bad protection valve and see if that fixes my issue.  The air compressor keeps up with everything except when I have to squeeze the 40 footer into a small park and apply the brakes numerous times at idle.  I will recheck for leaks after the first fix.

Thanks,

Brad
