Delo - 10w30 motor oil

A couple of weeks ago, I went into a large Canadian truck parts store and picked up a gallon of Delo for our generator.  Put it in and all is well.

Today, Cindy is checking our charge transactions and noticed the slip said Chevron Delo 400LE 10w30.

I said it must be a mistake as Delo only comes in 15w30 for our diesels.
Low and behold, I go online and find that Delo comes in many weights, all in the same blue container.

From now on I read the label twice.

Is anyone aware that Delo big blue container comes in different weights?

I thought our diesels use the 15W40?  not 15W30.

You are correct, we should use 15w40.
 
I was having a difficult time locating Delo and when I saw the familiar blue container with the 400 LE on the label, I grabbed the big blue container and now I realize I did not look at the label very well. I thought one of the benefits of Delo 400 LE is that it only comes in 15w40, so we never can buy the wrong weight.  Boy, was I wrong.

If you ever get into using synthetic diesel motor oil you will find it weights  vary, but are commonly 5w40 or 0w40.  In Europe, many of the extended run, light duty diesel synthetics oils are 5w30.  The oil sensor and computer tell you when to change the oil. but the oil is approved out to 30,000 miles total or when the computer tell you to change, which ever comes first.
