Service - MOT or FOT

Why does it seem more people go to MOT for service and repairs rather than FT.

There are numerous reasons. At one time FT closed down and the top techs moved on to MOT and now Keith is at Encore.  The customer service is second to none as well. It is controversial but I would tell you to try both and make your own decision. I have used both in the past too.

We probably started going to MOT rather than FOT because of discussions/recommendations here.

After using MOT several times we are pleased with their service. We have no reason to avoid FOT - MOT simply got the luck of the draw and didn't drop the ball.

I have had work done at FOT once and won't go back again unless I have to. I requested four relatively simple things be done and I had to redo all four myself after spending $1,300. I have never had any work done at MOT.

We use both as well.  For me, the choice is dependant on specifically what type of service we need.

For example, we were having a problem with our cruise control/retarder last year and we asked MOT to look at it while having fluids and filters serviced.  They took a shot at resolving the problem, but were unable to come up with anything definitive.  So on a follow-up fluids and filter service earlier this year, we went to FOT and they were able to solve the problem.

It's not an easy decision on who to bring it to.  The fact is, they are both very professional and qualified.

Guess I am like most others, MOT has always talked straight, done nice work, reasonable and can work out a schedule with them for work.
Have tried several times for work at FT, problem is always, schedule, they seem to be booked up for many months in advance. Hell I may not live that long. FT seems to only want the newer high buck work.
Have spent a fair amount of money with MOT, many upgrades and changes. Always felt I got a good deal for the buck.
So MOT has better answers for me and I never consider FT any longer unless MOT folds up.

I can't comment on MOT since I've never had any work done there.  I took my coach to FT after purchase to correct deficiencies.  Since then, they've done all servicing on my coach that I haven't done myself.  I've always been very satisfied with scheduling, technician expertise, and cost.

I have had service done at the factory on 3 different coach and have always been please with the service done.  I purchased a 1990 U280 from MOT and was please with that transaction also.

We have posted our difficulties with lack of response with phone and email inquiries with FT on another thread.  On Aug. 26th we emailed Billy Jack at Foretravel Service a list of annual maintenance and repair/remodel items, citing our arrival in Nac on Oct. 4th; and, FT promptly sent a return email saying they were booked until Oct. 15th for repairs; and, Nov. 5th for remodeling issues.  In all fairness, we had contacted Motorhomes of Texas a couple of weeks earlier; and, they were available for our arrival time.  So, MoT gets our business.  ;D :)) :P

Does MOT have any hookups in case you need to stay overnight there?

Also for MOT, they have 50 amp hookup, not sure about water or sewer as no need while I was there.
Parking area is level enough where I did the auto level out of habit, not need.
Only small draw back: If  you need to drive out after hours, you need the gate combo  to exit and reenter, There is no traffic roaming thru the lot at night unless they belong there.
Works for me

MOT does have electric hookups and also lets you 'work' with tech as they do your service.  Nothing like learning what they are doing and having the ability to talk to the MOT tech directly so he knows your concerns.  This usually improves the satisfaction level and the work gets done to our satisfaction.

When you get dirty under your coach, MOT has a sink and soap to clean back up.
